This virtual event aims to aims to raise awareness about the impact which candid family dialogue can have in helping to better understand and confront cancer risks within Black families and provides vital information to help individuals take steps towards healthier lifestyles and risk reduction.
Together, panelists will share how cancer screening, genetic testing, and knowing your family’s history play an important role in your health and wellness. We are delighted to invite you this interactive discussion, “Engaging the Generations: Genetics, Genomics, & Black Families”, partnering experts, healthcare professionals, and thought leaders from within Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s School of Medicine and CREATE Initiative, Gillings School of Global Public Health, and Touch4Life.

They’ll share the facts of genetic and genomic testing and will speak more about how sharing that family history across genders and ages can leave a lasting legacy of health for all generations. Participants will also be provided a Conversation Guide and Family Health History Tree to use at upcoming family gatherings as a practical tool to getting the conversations flowing with their loved ones.
This dynamic discussion is open to everyone who is eager to bridge the generations, share stories, and promote health and well-being within Black families. Registration is open and we hope to see you there.
