Battling cancer brings so many things into perspective. What’s important. What’s petty. It is sobering to say the least. Here are 5 things that I challenge you to do.
- Live! Live a lot! Out Loud. Just when you think it’s silly to laugh or speak up, do it!
- Keep it moving. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Let it go and keep going higher.
- Find your assignment in your journey. Why are you here on earth to do? Seek that from the voice of God.
- Pay it Forward—allow your actions, your story, your journey, to lift someone else up. Because only you know what it’s like to walk the journey you’re on—as a survivor or caregiver. You uniquely know what people like us—who are in a club we didn’t ask to join, need.
• Finally, PLEASE, do self breast exams; have regular mammograms; make and keep your doctor’s appointments. I found a lump in my breast doing my monthly self-exam. Sometime it’s an intimate partner who feels something unusual. Other women discovered cancer through mammography way before anything would have surfaced to the touch. Some doctors find lumps. Do yourself a favor and do all three—self-exams, mammograms, and an annual well woman exam.
